![]() That's what "whiskey to the people" is all about. We really are always looking to improve and serve our customers better. (Please feel free to mention this review or just come unannounced.) Thanks for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. Proof: 113.6 ( 56.8 ALC/VOL) Mash Bill: 75 corn, 21 rye, 4 malted barley Age: Blend of barrels between 2 and 10 years old Created by selecting barrels from the hottest and driest portions of the rick house - which are not only higher proof - but exhibit a bolder, sweeter, spicier, more barrel-forward character. So we hope you'll come back again to visit the Tennessee Stillhouse and let us try to make it up to you. We're just as disappointed as you that your first visit was not what you expected. The Tennessee Stillhouse is a micro-distillery (with a 100-gallon still) and tasting room where we are currently experimenting with various mash bills as we prepare to scale production up and begin full-scale production to meet customer demand. ![]() We are grateful that now we're able to make whiskey here in our hometown. We're proud of both 1816 Reserve and 1816 Cask and the fact that they've helped establish Chattanooga Whiskey as a brand that delivers quality products. We're hoping to release a "first taste" of our white whiskey before the end of the year! Our 1816 line of whiskey was the product that allowed our company to start-and it was barreled in 2008 long before it was legal for us to distill in Hamilton County again and therefore it was produced and sourced from Lawrenceburg, Indiana by a very experienced and talented team using a pre-prohibition mash bill. ![]() Thanks to a new state law (which our "Vote Whiskey" campaign helped get passed in 2013) we are reviving and rediscovering Chattanooga's rich whiskey tradition. This year, after 100 years of prohibition in our city, we opened the first legal distillery in Chattanooga since pre-prohibition laws went into effect in 1915. Certainly worth a visit if you enjoy bourbon whiskey and/or distilleries. We pride ourselves on being transparent about where our whiskey comes from, how it's made and the journey that our company has been on to bring whiskey back to Chattanooga. This is an interesting tour and they produce good bourbon. The Cask Strength was very smooth and flavorful, but had a strong oak flavor due to not being diluted. I purchased a bottle of the 1816 Reserve which is 90 proof and brought to proof by the addition of water. Most were very watered down and could have used more bourbon in them. I'm more of a bourbon on an ice cube kind of guy, but I enjoyed several of the cocktail flavors. The tasting was conducted at a very nice bar in the back and in addition to their two bourbons, we tasted several cocktails. This is a nano distillery, so the tour did not take very long, but it was interesting and informative. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and obtained any answers she did not already know. Aged 10 years and selected by our distillers for their distinct flavor profiles, this is the purest and most sought after expression of our 1816, high rye mash bill. ![]() We enjoyed an intimate tour and were able to ask a lot of questions. Mash Bill: 75 corn, 21 rye, 4 malted barley. Having completed the bourbon trail tour in Kentucky and visiting the Jack Daniels and George Dickel distilleries, we are always interested in visiting distilleries and tasting their products.
